05 MAR 1829 - Sale of property. Buyers: Simeon McMasters, William Kirkman, Zale McDaniel, Henry Jones, John M. Marley, James Marley, J.M. Marley, Christian Brown (note: the name really looks like BROWN, not BROWER), John Kivett, widow, Jesse Stout, Aaron Kivett, Eli Kivett, & William ?????.
09 FEB 1831 - Report of committee on estate of John Marley (administrator's account). Lists include notes against James Marley and William Marley.
JOHN MARLEY - 1870
MAR 1870 - Notice to Chatham County Sheriff to make known to John A. Womack, public administrator of John Marley, that he is to appear at court in Asheboro, SEPT. 1870 to defend suit. John Marley, William S. McLane & Joshua Edwards appear to have been defendants in a suit brought by Hugh Parks (they owed him money), but Marley died after commencement of the suit.
20 MAY 1870 - Warrant to Chatham County Sheriff for Womack to answer Arthur McCoy, to the use of Anderson McMasters, against Marley. Another warrant for the same was dated SEPT 1870.
Spring Term 1871 - Hugh Parks vs. Womack, public administrator of Marley. Ordered referred to Probate Judge of Chatham County to take account of assets which have come to Womack as administrator.
Spring Term 1871 - S.T. Petty, Judge of Probate, Chatham County, reports that notice came too late to take account intime for fall term of Superior Court in Randolph County, 21 NOV 1871.
17 APR 1872 - Account of Womack, public administrator for Chatham County, taken by S.T. Petty, Judge of Probate. Letters of administration were granted 14 NOV 1869.

01 SEP 1870 - Warrant to Chatham County Sheriff in connection with suit Gideon Macon vs. B.B. Marley, John Marley & Maloy Jordan, administrator's of N.M. Marley. John Marley died after commencement of suit and Womack is his administrator. They are to appear at Randolph County.

24 MAR 1869 - Petition to sell land. George T. Marley is under age 14 and resides with his mother and guardian, Lavina Marley. Is owner in fee simple of several tracts that descended to him as only heir of Thomas Marley, deceased. Wishes to sell one know as Pugh tract, on south side of stage road leading from Asheboro to Pittsboro, by Jesse Bowdoin, Elizabeth Thompson & others, about 100 acres. Rent is not enough to maintain property per affidavit of Josiah Bowdoin.

18 SEP 1869 - Report of sale. Sold 23 JUL 1869 to George C. Underwood for $200. Dr. William Edwards and John Marley, sureties.
JULY 1869 - Decree confirming sale.
11 JUN 1870 - Petition to sell land. Land on Bru(s)h Creek by Oliver Vestal, Elizabeth Thompson, & others, about 100 acres. Owns some 200 acres besided this, subject to life estate of Lavina Marley. Affidavit of Lavina Marley.

08 OCT 1870 - Report of sale to (M?) McDaniel for $300. John Marley & W.S. Edwards security.

02 FEB 1883 - Release of sureties on guardian bond. Lavina Marley died before mking final settlement. George Thomas Marley is now of the full age of 21 and releases the sureties.
